And Here We Are

Well, the election's are well behind us and the change that was promised is not quite the change we are realizing.

We were all told that Iraqi occupation had to come to a swift end so we could bring out troops home.  We are seeing the the occupation of Iraq lessen, but we were not told that there would be a shift to Afghanistan and increase.  Whatever happened to all those crying liberal's denouncing military action in a foreign nation?  Do they not care about our troops anymore?

We were told that these outlandish bailout's would steady and save our economy.  We are seeing an economy just short of a state of depression.  They've bailed out the auto industry (a couple times) and still, it is little better than before; bully for FORD moco for playing smart.

We heard how we would see an increase in domestic employment....not happening; it is still getting worse.

Healthcare?  We are seeing an assurance of diminishing of quality healthcare.  While I agree that the healthcare industry has been a growing mess that was quickly moving beyond the wallet of the average person, putting in a plan that nobody has really read or understands for the sake of change is no good thing.

Obama to save the world...well, we've all seen him put back in his place on the international stage.  Not quite as special as he thought he was.  I am surprised to see the dem's I know that are turning their back on him.  They're not as proud as they once were; seem's they thought he would only put the "fat-cat's" back in their place, but now that he's impacting their personal lives in a negative way...suddenly he's not all that good.

We've for too long allowed congress (both parties) a free reign to do whatever it is they want to do.  Well, we've had discussion, tea parties, and town hall meetings, and most would have to agree that the nation didn't want all this legislation on healthcare.  What do they do?  They go on and press their agenda through.  There were a few holdout's, but they were easily bought.  I'm predicting a fairly strong change in the congressional lineup in November of 2010.

Congress did not, and is not listening to their constituency...betrayal of their sworn post.  They will be thrown out like the rubbish they have proven to be. The threat of dismissal needs to be reinforced with these people.

What we have witnessed is all the outcome of a comfortable and lazy voter.  We kept our voices down and didn't take the time to research who we were electing.  When they were placed in office, we just let them be and do whatever they chose.  We are paying for our past and it will take some time to straighten out, yet I am confident that the American spirit will prevail.
